Author Spotlight: C. Meadows

Before meeting C. Meadows, I didn’t know much about cozy mysteries. But her PJ mystery, No Coincidence, captivated me with its warm characters, home-cooked meals, jewelry making, Wyoming scenery, and murder.

C. Meadows has just released the second book in the series, PJ and the Vegas Showgirl. In this book, Abby Chase returns with her loving dog, PJ, who has a knack for finding bodies. Abby is trying to make a living as a cook on a remote Wyoming ranch when PJ finds an unconscious woman on a Wyoming mountain pullout during a snowstorm. While Abby tries her best to rescue the woman, she dies at the hospital. Now the woman’s family is accusing Abby of stealing jewelry from the woman and Abby must solve the murder to clear her name.

To find out more about C. Meadows and her novel “No Coincidence, a PJ Mystery” you can visit her website. You can find her book on Smashwords or at Amazon. After you read the book, please leave her a review. I’d love for this series to get the attention it deserves, and attract readers from all over.

And in case you haven’t had a chance to read the first book, here’s the review I left on Goodreads:

In this book, C. Meadows captures the beauty of Wyoming life. The protagonist, Abby Chase, finds peace and healing in nature. And while she finds her world unraveling and endures anonymous harassment, she tries to start her new life following an unexpected divorce. With her faithful dog, PJ, as her constant companion, she uses the beauty of her surroundings to inspire her art and metalsmithing while trying to solve the mystery behind the disappearance of a hunter and a sudden slew of poaching on the ranch.
It’s a mystery that captures the coziness of ranch life while also highlighting the hard work and hardships of living in the country.
The characters are endearing, and the cooking involved throughout the story leaves me wanting to taste the creations made in the book. There’s also a lot of intrigue and tension that keeps the reader engaged and filled with the need to keep turning the pages until the very end.
There’s something so realistic and enchanting about the characters that when I’d set the book down I’d find I wanted to pick it back up and sit and have a conversation with them.

I know! I’ve just started reading the Amazon version. I know she’s made lots of changes and improvements since I read it last when I was helping with editing, and I thought it was fantastic then. I can’t wait to see what surprises await me in the final version.

  1. I’m gonna check out this book next time I go to the book store. It sounds like a very enjoyable read. 😀

Your whole last paragraph made me smile. I think that is the reaction most, if not all, authors hope to achieve. ( I say “if not all” because there are some authors who are just too curmudgeonly to admit to that sort of hope).

I hope you get a chance to read it, although, they are both only available as e-books. The first one is available at Smashwords and Barnes & Noble, and the second one is available at Smashwords and Amazon. I’m pretty sure I’ve provided links for where to find them, or you can go to C. Meadows’ website and find the links too.
