Our website address: https://www.mandiehines.com.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

The contact form sends an email to Roundcube and is forwarded to Gmail, so if you complete it, your name and email address are shared with Roundcube and Gmail. Otherwise, your information is not added to any mailing lists or shared with any other party other than Roundcube and Gmail. You may read Google’s privacy policy. More information on Roundcube can be found here.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged into that website.

Analytics/Cookies

If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

I use analytical/performance cookies for Google Search Console that allow me to recognize and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around my website when they are using it. This helps me to improve the way this website works, for example, by ensuring that users are finding what they are looking for easily.

I also use Jetpack to perform a similar function of recognizing and counting the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around my website when they are using it. Jetpack also manages subscriptions to the website and sends out notifications of new posts, which users must opt-in to receive and can opt-out by unsubscribing at any time. For additional information on JetPack and their privacy policies, visit the Jetpack Privacy Center.

WordPress.com Stats uses IP address, WordPress.com user ID (if logged in), WordPress.com username (if logged in), user agent, visiting URL, referring URL, timestamp of event, browser language, country code. Important: The site owner does not have access to any of this information via this feature. For example, a site owner can see that a specific post has 285 views, but he/she cannot see which specific users/accounts viewed that post. Stats logs — containing visitor IP addresses and WordPress.com usernames (if available) — are retained by Automattic for 28 days and are used for the sole purpose of powering this feature.

You may prefer to disable cookies on this website and on others. The most effective way to do this is to disable cookies in your browser. We suggest consulting the Help section of your browser, or taking a look at the About Cookies website which offers guidance for all modern browsers. However, if you use your browser settings to block all cookies (including essential cookies) you may not be able to access all or parts of this site.

Who we share your data with

Some third-party providers are used for functionality on the site. These are listed below, along with links to their Privacy Policies:

Many of our quizzes, surveys, and forms are created using Quiz And Survey Master.

The data the software (Quiz and Survey Master) collects

In order to distinguish individual users, IP addresses are collected and stored with the responses.

Each individual form may have fields for a variety of other personal information, such as name and email. This data is needed to identify and possibly communicate with the user. There may be other fields asking for personal information and this data may be for different purposes for each quiz, survey, or form. If any data is to be used for purposes other than grading or survey purposes, this will be disclosed on the form itself.

How long we retain your data from Quiz and Survey Master

The responses and data attached to the responses are stored indefinitely until an administrator of this site deletes the responses.

Where we send your data

Quiz And Survey Master does not send any of your data to anywhere outside of this site by default.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you subscribe to email notifications, your subscription information is kept as long as you are receiving emails. When you unsubscribe the data is removed.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

How we protect your data

Our website is scanned on a regular basis for security holes and known vulnerabilities in order to make your visit to our site as safe as possible.

Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of persons who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

Third party links

In an attempt to provide increased value to our visitors, Mandie Hines Author provides links to various third party websites from our own site. Our site has no control over these linked sites who each have separate privacy and data collection practices, independent of our site. Mandie Hines Author has no responsibility or liability for these independent policies or actions and is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites. These linked sites are only for your convenience and you, therefore, access them at your own risk. Nonetheless, Mandie Hines Author seeks to protect the integrity of its website and the links placed upon it and therefore requests any feedback on not only its own site, but for sites it links to as well (including if a specific link does not work).
