Igniting the Flame

In life, some people are fortunate enough to experience divine inspiration, a calling that pulls them in a certain direction. Mine is writing. It’s been that way since I was very small, and through the years I spent a great deal of time trying to pursue it indirectly.

Now, I’m chasing after it wholeheartedly, because it is what makes my heart feel full. I invite you to join me on this mission that I call Igniting the Flame. It’s the idea that passion will generate excitement in others to pursue what they love. Watching other people in their creative endeavors inspires me to work harder at my craft, and I hope sharing my lifelong love of writing will inspire you as well.

In the future, you can expect to see anecdotes about my struggles and successes with the writing process along with pieces that I’ve written and will post here for you to enjoy for free. I write horror and psychological thrillers, but you’ll see pieces on here that range from poetry to regular short fiction. I enjoy writing in other genres because it allows me to experiment and learn new things. I’ll also let you know when and where to find my published stories, and give you some hints on what I’m currently working on.

Come back and visit, I’ll be posting a poem in the next few days called, “Silence Runs Dry.”

In the meantime, I leave you with this quote I found today after settling on my artist statement, “Igniting the Flame.”

“To learn to read is to light a fire; every syllable that is spelled out is a spark.” – Victor Hugo
